A three-car accident in Oak Ridge sent three people to the hospital. So far, two of them have died.
The accident happened on Thursday, November 1. Danny Bean, 55, was driving south on Oliver Springs Highway when his SUV crossed the centerline and crashed into Alberta Farrer’s Hyundai Elantra. Farrer, 56, was driving with Pat Smith, 62.
Travis Gallaher, 19, was driving behind Ferrar’s car. He tried to avoid the accident by slamming on his brakes, but he crashed into the Elantra.
Farrer, Smith and Bean were all taken to the University of Tennessee Hospital, and Gallaher was taken to a local hospital. Farrer died a week later on Thursday, November 8. Smith died on Monday, November 12. The hospital has not released information about Bean’s condition, and Gallaher did not sustain life-threatening injuries.
Tennessee Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident. Trooper Anthony Lay said that his team investigated the scene and he is awaiting results of blood tests before filing charges.
