A bicyclist was injured after a hit-and-run driver struck her on August 4 in downtown Nashville. According to WTVF-TV, the accident occurred around 1 a.m., when a woman was riding her bicycle in the bike lane on the Korean Veterans Bridge.

The woman was knocked to the ground by the vehicle, which fled the scene of the crash. Police are still investigating the accident. Investigators said the woman was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

There is no reason for a driver to leave the scene of an accident. In Tennessee, we have laws that punish drivers who injure pedestrians, passengers and other motorists, who flee the scene of a crash. Aside from criminal charges, if you leave the scene of a crash involving injuries or death, you can be held liable for the accident via a wrongful death or personal injury lawsuit.

Catastrophic injuries like traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and amputations often lead to costly extended medical care and physical therapy.

If you or a loved one has suffered a horrific injury as the result of another driver’s negligence, please contact us. We can help procure damages to compensate for your loss. Call (615) 866-3938 to schedule a free case review, or visit our site for more information on Nashville vehicle accidents.
