The Tennessean reports that an Ashland City church was recently damaged when a vehicle experienced a brake failure and slammed into the building.
The vehicle was heading south on Valley View Road when the driver suddenly found themselves unable to stop the vehicle, and it careened across Little Marrowbone Road, colliding with the church’s foyer. Strangely, this was the second time in ten years that the foyer of the building had experienced a vehicle collision.
At the time of the report, no injuries had been reported. Details were not available on the total extent of damage that the vehicle suffered, but it is likely that the necessary repairs will cost thousands of dollars. Depending on the age of the vehicle, it may even be totaled.
With auto accidents like this, injuries do not always seem immediately apparent. It may take weeks or even months for a person to realize that they were in fact wounded in the accident. If this occurs, it is essential that they contact a qualified Nashville car accident attorney. Legal action may be possible against the brake manufacturer if it is found that the brakes were defective and unfit for use in a vehicle.
