According to WATE-TV, a Murfreesboro truck accident on June 13 killed two people who were traveling to the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.

WATE reported that the crash happened just after midnight, along I-24, east of mile marker 81, near the South Church Street exit. The station reported that two-tractor trailers and seven vehicles were involved in the crash. Two vehicles that were struck were engulfed in flames.

WATE said that an earlier accident caused the interstate to become congested and a tractor-trailer was not able to stop in time and struck multiple vehicles. According to the station, 28-year-old Brandon Wilson and 25-year-old Deja Morris were killed in the crash.

Five other motorists were injured, three of whom were taken via LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the two others were taken to Vanderbilt by ambulance.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the truck driver has been cited for failure to exercise due care. Additional charges are pending.
