WTVF-TV reported that three people who survived a plane crash in Carter County atop Holston Mountain were rescued on March 19.

Carter County Sheriff Chris Mathis said that rescuers reached the victims several hours after getting a report about a crash. He said the plane landed in a densely forested area at an elevation of 3,000 feet.
The plane reportedly stopped in Elizabethton for fuel on its way to Ohio after departing from Charleston, South Carolina. As of last week, the names of the crash victims were not released, although two were reportedly in critical condition.
The plane was registered to Skypark Inc., a privately owned airport located in northeastern Ohio, south of Cleveland, according to WTVF. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.

Family members of plane accident victims should always seek an attorney to perform an independent investigation in order to pursue a wrongful death claim, while victims can pursue personal injury claims.
Plane crashes can occur because of negligence and/or defective parts. It is important to seek legal counsel quickly, as the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) often destroys accident remains when it completes an investigation.
