According to WTVF-TV, a 41-year-old woman was killed after she sustained critical injuries in a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 24 in south Nashville on December 18.
Metro Police said that Tresa R. Partee, of Nashville, died on December 19, one day following a car accident, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Witnesses told investigators that Partee’s 2013 Nissan Sentra was weaving in the inside traffic lane, before coming to a complete stop near the Harding Place exit, at around 10 p.m., when the driver of a 2007 Nissan Maxima stuck her vehicle from behind.
After the initial crash, a 1995 Nissan Maxima struck the 2007 model. The drivers of the other vehicles were treated and released from Southern Hills Medical Center.
Police are still trying to determine why Partee stopped on the roadway, and were looking to whether or not she had a medical issue. WTVF reported that there were no signs of alcohol involved in the crash.
