According to the Tennessean, there were hundreds of car accidents in Nashville and the surrounding area overnight on March 3 due to poor weather. The news outlet reported that between midnight and 11 a.m., Metro police received 276 vehicle crash calls. Injuries were reported in 35 of the accidents.

All of the major interstates in Nashville were impacted by accidents. From 5 to 7 a.m., there were 125 crashes in Metro Nashville. In one crash, near Charlotte Avenue and Interstate 40, more than 10 vehicles were involved.
Other accidents reported included:
- A 12-car accident on Interstate 65 northbound at Mile Marker 59
- A multi-car pileup on Interstate 65, near S.R. 840 in Franklin
- Several other crashes that were reported on S.R. 840 in Rutherford County
According to the Tennessean, more than an inch of snow fell in the Metro-area during the overnight hours.
