We have reported in the past about the dangers of wrong-way vehicle accidents in our blog. Sadly, these types of crashes can be disastrous, resulting in serious personal injuries and even death.

It should be noted that wrong-way accidents are uncommon. However, when they do occur, they are often fatal—drivers and passengers are 27 percent more likely to die in them than customary crashes.

Often, wrong-way accidents occur for reasons that are avoidable, including drunk driving, debris in roadways, defective vehicle products and confused drivers, whom may not know the area well.

In any case, if your loved one is killed or injured in a wrong-way accident, you should speak to our attorney who can investigate the crash.

A NASHVILLE WRONG-WAY CRASH ARREST

According to the Associated Press, police in Nashville recently issued an arrest warrant after a woman caused a fatal accident while driving the wrong-way on Interstate 65.

The news outlet reported that Michael Campbell, of Kentucky, was killed on January 10 when the vehicle he was driving was struck by an SUV driving on the wrong side of the road. The driver of the SUV, 38-year-old Delois Beasley, was driving the wrong-way in the northbound lanes of the interstate when the crash occurred.

According to police, Beasley admitted after the accident that she consumed “way too much” alcohol. She has been charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication and vehicular assault.

SHOULD I SPEAK TO AN ATTORNEY AFTER A WRONG-WAY ACCIDENT?

Remember, wrong-way accidents can occur for a number of avoidable reasons. Make sure you have your case investigated by our attorney if a negligent driver has harmed your loved one.

You should never drink and drive. There are alternatives available, including public transportation and taxis, which can safely get you to your destination. If you have been hurt in a drunk driving accident, ask a Nashville accident lawyer about your rights in holding the negligent party responsible.
