On July 2, a Mt. Juliet truck accident on Interstate 40 resulted in the extraction of two children and their father from a mangled vehicle.
Scripps Media had frightening photos from the accident scene, which showed a vehicle pinned underneath a tanker. The accident occurred near mile marker 226, when a tractor-trailer carrying milk somehow pinned a vehicle underneath its tank.
A 33-year-old man who was traveling with his two children, ages 11 and 9, were trapped in the pinned vehicle. The children received non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment, according to Scripps Media. Thankfully, the father was not injured in the wreck.
The driver of the truck was not injured. A preliminary investigation into the accident showed that the vehicle travelled into another lane when the truck struck it. Milk from the truck leaked onto the interstate. As of last week, officials were still trying to determine fault in the crash.
HAVING A TRUCK ACCIDENT INVESTIGATED BY A NASHVILLE ATTORNEY
If you are ever involved in a truck accident, you should contact our Nashville injury attorney about investigating the crash. You should do this as quickly as possible following an accident, as evidence is easier to preserve in the aftermath of a crash, when local authorities are conducting their own investigation.
Although the wreck above is still being investigated, many truck accidents occur due to driver error, lack of truck maintenance, poorly loaded cargo, defective auto parts, improper weight, speeding and poor weather. If another party is at fault for a truck accident that results in injuries, you may be able hold the driver and/or the truck’s owner liable. Visit our verdicts and settlements page to see how our Nashville injury attorney has helped truck accident victims.
